Another authorized program is FLVS FT Home Education Program, which serves students in grades 6-12. However, students taking this program cannot earn a high school diploma since they are considered Home Education students.

Now Florida Virtual Academies is offering full-time enrollment for students in grades K-9 for the 2012-2013 school year. To qualify for the program, applicants must be at least five years old before September 1, 2012. If you’re applying for grades 6-9, you must meet the following eligibility requirements.

• Eligible students must have been enrolled full time in the Florida Public Schools for the last school year (2011-2012 school year). In addition, you should have been included in the October 2011 and February 2012 Full-Time Enrollment Counts. Or

• If you’re dependent children of an U.S. Armed Forces member who was transferred due to a permanent change of station in the last 12 months, you’ll be eligible for the program as well.
